The 330 movement is the successor to the 324 caliber. It incorporates Patek Philippe’s exclusive patented MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology, using a new nickel-phosphorus alloy. The gear teeth are as small as 22 microns. The goal is to maintain stable power transmission, reduce torque loss, and further improve mechanical timekeeping accuracy. That‘s why it’s called an “anti-backlash wheel,” commonly known as a “lotus wheel.”
Additionally, compared to the 324 movement, the 330 adds hacking seconds (stop-seconds) and bidirectional automatic winding.
