Why do some sellers offer seemingly the same configuration at such low prices? Let me share a lesson learned from a recent case.
A customer bought a so‑called “custom 324 movement” elsewhere and asked me to assemble it for him. Never mind the movement quality itself – the so‑called “18k gold rotor” weighed only 1.2 grams. At first glance it looked impressive, but it was actually brass with a gold plating, not real gold. The result? The watch couldn’t wind automatically because the rotor was too light to drive the automatic wheel. A properly custom‑made 18k gold rotor should weigh no less than 2.1 grams.
